South Korea is an amazing country to travel to and gives you access to some many different experiences. From their culture to food to monuments that have been around long before us. South Korea is growing every day with their economy, technology, and even the film industry, which allows all tourists to get a taste of everything. Today we will be talking about one experience that I believe anyone traveling to South Korea must try!
South Korea has many different excursions offered throughout the whole country but this 10 hour tour is a must when traveling to South Korea. This is called the Private DMZ Peace Tour and today we will be going into depth on what you will experience, how much it costs, and how to book and what extras come with the booking.
DMZ Peace Tour
Unlike many tours, this tour is all private and you and whoever want to bring will have the undivided attention of the tour guides. The tour begins with the DMZ tunnel where you will be able to look through the Bridge of Freedom, this is where you will be able to see
the bridge between North and South Korea and also getting to look at the memorial of the fallen soldiers. The tour guides will then take you to the third invasion tunnel that is part of the the DMZ tunnels. This is where you will be able to see one out of the four secret tunnels under the borders of South and North Korea. Fun fact, North Korea created these tunnels to surprise attack South Korea but has now blocked up any entrances into their country through the tunnels.
After you leave the DMZ tunnels, you will be taken to the Dorason station, this station is the only train station that connects South and North Korea together. After the train station, the tour guides will take you to the Dora Observatory to catch a glimpse of the Gaeseong Industrial Complex and Songhaksan Mountain. You can also see North Korea with binoculars from this location as well. Locals and Tourists use this location to wish for peace and reunification between the countries.
The last stop on this tour gives the tourists two options to choose from, either the Gamakan suspension bridge of the Ware Memorial of Korea.
The Gamakan suspension bridge is the longest suspension bridge located in South Korea and is about a twenty minute walk. This is a beautiful bridge to walk upon because once you get to the highest point, you will get a great view of all of Korea.
The Ware Memorial of Korea is a great option for people who are not trying to walk too much but still experience Koreas Culture. This memorial is actually ranked top 10 must visit on TripAdvisor. You will be able to learn all about the history of Korea and all the pasts wars that have occurred. Fun Fact, this memorial actually used to be a former army headquarters back in the 1940's.
