Norway has many amazing geographical locations that are truly stunning and one of a kind. These wonderful landmarks are everything you could ever need to have unique adventure. The first is the Fjord region on the west coast spanning from the southern tip to the north. Fjords are massive valleys that have formed by erosion from the ice caps on the top of the mountain; these valleys then fill with water creating stunning rivers carving through the mountains. Guests can view these spectacles from car ride, hike, ATV ride, and even a cruise. There are also places to stay that offer guest access to these Fjord within walking distance of their stay. The Birdbox Fauske come with a .25-mile trail to a Fjord for guest to swim in. These are truly one-of-a-kind landscapes!
The next stunning landscape is called the Tolltunga Hike which features a landmark called Troll’s Tongue. This amazing hike takes guest up a trail along a Fjord till they come to a thin silver rock that sticks out over the edge. Guests can climb on this rock and see some of the most stunning views of the Fjords below. This has become an extremely popular photo location for visitors; just be careful not to get too close to the edge!
The final location to visit is the town of Roros which features a UNESCO World Heritage Site for the oldest European wooden buildings. This town look like a straight blast from the past and features stunning classic Nordic architecture and fully locally produced food. This is a fantastic place to grab a delicious meal and view some of the oldest buildings in Europe still in use. There is plenty of Norwegian history and culture to experience in this lovely town.
This town also can see the Northern Lights depending on the time of year. During the summer months guest can expect to see the midnight sun where it is daytime at night, but in the winter, they can catch the Northern Lights dancing in the sky.
